Result!

Shawn Johnson totally deserved to win Dancing With the Stars. She grew on me. So cute. And how about her performance last night and tonight?? Awes. The best thing is, no one probably expected her to win, and I really dig that.

So, congrats, Shawn!!! Gilles and Melissa did great, too, but after last night I was rooting for Shawn.

Yes, I watch. Yes, I love it. Go ahead, judge me. You know you want to. :)

Hmm.

I just realized that in the previous post I used "YouTube" as a verb.

Sign of the times, people. Sign of the times.

Laugh of the Day

Okay, I just posted this on my favorite mistake, (Facebook), but here it is again....Delyn's favorite show in the whole wide world of television is "Yo Gabba Gabba". If you are not familiar with this show, YouTube it. It's bizarre. BUT, the songs are catchy, there is always a good message, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, whenever it's on Delyn is mesmerized. He will usually watch without a peep. Sometimes he even laughs outloud. And I am not ashamed. Sometimes, mommy needs some Tiffanie time!

Anyways, the funny thing is that my mom can NEVER remember the name of this show, no matter how hard she tries. Today, was the funniest. When I came to pick up the baby tonight, my mom took great pleasure in telling me that she and Del had the most wonderful time together watching "Obama Bama".

My mom. Gotta love her.

Stupid.

So, I finally came to an agreement with Delyn's dad about child support. It's been ridiculous. To spare you all the gory details, I'll just tell you that he is being held financially responsible for probably about a third of what he SHOULD be held responsible for (yeah ,lying to the IRS, a good trait to look for in a man). There is so much more I could write here, but I'm not.

Anyways...on to my point...One of the things that both of us have to do is take a parenting class. No joke. I had to pay $70 to take a course online to teach me how to be a parent to a child who is suffering from divorced parents. Its' a 4 hour course, so I'm taking my time. So far this is what I've learned:
  1. Do not use "four letter words" around your child in regards to your ex-spouse. However it does not mention using "four letter words" around your child in regards to other things. It also does not specify what the "four letter words" are. So, i have no idea. I mean, "idea"! That has four letters!!! Be specific if you're gonna go there! Maybe if I'm hip (LMAO) and add "shizzle" to everything I'll be covered. "Yourshizzle Fashizzle is an Asshizzle." Will that work?
  2. Divorce is freaking expensive. Don't do it.

So yeah, it's settled, and yeah, it sucks. But at least it's something. The man has no interest in seeing the most beautiful baby in the world. So be it. He'll have to answer to someone, someday.

Random Thoughts

  • Yeah, it's been, like, a month since I updated this blog. I've been busy, k? :)
  • I've had a really bad case of the "crud" for the past few days. I think it's "Inventory Influenza". My doc put me on antibiotics, and I feel a bit better, but still feel that general grossness that goes along with being under the weather.
  • Speaking of inventories, they are over for the year! Yay!!! Inventories SUCK. There is nothing positive about that experience. Well, usually someone brings in a cake or homemade cookies, so I guess that's a positive. Whatever.
  • I still miss 'Lil Kim on DWTS. (did I put the apostrophe in the correct spot? I never know.)
  • I was disappointed that Ty went last week, even though it was deserved.
  • I watched "Celebrity Apprentice" this season and was really disappointed with who won. Since no one reading this blog would ever watch this show besides me, or at least they would never ADMIT to watching, I'll spoil it for you. Joan Rivers. JOAN RIVERS. She actually quit during a previous episode when her daughter, Melissa, was fired. (Now, Melissa...there's a piece of work. I think the only thing I liked about Melissa's appearance on the show was when she referred to one of the other contestants as a "Whore Pit Viper", whatever that means.) So, anyway, Joan came back and then beat Annie Duke in the finale.
  • I've recently become a little bit addicted to Facebook. I know, I know...dumb. But it wastes time like a mofo, and there is this app called "Farm Town" that I really like. What's next, Twitter???
  • I can't believe the Wolverine movie has been out this long and I haven't seen it yet.
  • "True Blood" June 14... WHOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
  • Nathan Fillion was hot when he was on "One Life to Live" and he's still hot on that "Castle" show. Well, at least he's hot during the commercials for that "Castle" show since I haven't actually watched an episode.
  • Can you believe that Delyn is almost a year old?!?!? Time flies when all you do is work, change diapers, and fight for child support.
  • There are times when I actually miss being pregnant.
  • I have no idea who "Lady Gaga" is. I'm old.
  • I remember the days when I used to be able to go into Kroger, buy my shit, and get the hell out. Well, those days are over. Want a sure-fire way to attract attention? Well, go shopping with a cute baby! Yes, I know that everyone thinks their baby is cute, yadda yadda. But I swear, Delyn has so many fans at Kroger. We were stopped TWICE in the parking lot on the way INTO the store so his female fans could oogle and coo at him. Then, twice more in the store. Don't get me wrong, it's flattering and I am one proud mommy, but sometimes you just want to buy your grapes, tampons, and toilet bowl cleaner without being noticed! The cool thing is that D just stared at them with his special stare, as if to say, "Can't you see we're in a hurry?"There was one particular groupie of his today that caught us right as we walked in. She was talking "baby talk" in this weird language that could have been Spanish, might have been Chinese, I don't know. Anyways, she kept repeating the same thing, and I was beginning to get worried she was casting some kind of evil juju on my kid. She was very nice, but after about the fifth time she said, in English, "I will pay money for him!" I just kind of strolled him away. Yeah, that was weird.
  • Willie and Jennifer will NEVER update their blogs, so, I carry the torch alone. Here's one for my homies.

Confession

So yeah, I'm still watching "Dancing With the Stars." I'm scared at how much I'm getting to like Lil' Kim. I really liked their jive the other night.

WTF?

You know what really makes me feel old? Being at work and hearing a song by The Cult on our in-store play CD.

Warning!

I completely forgot about this picture. It was taken back on Valentines Day.

A picture like this is why women all over the planet decide that they want one of their own. Do not be fooled!! This sleeping angel isn't as innocent as he seems. :)

By the way, we had a horrible night last night. He woke up about ever hour after midnight. Around the 3am mark, I got out of bed for what seemed like the millionth time, and went to go get a bottle. While I was in the kitchen, I heard him get quiet (he was crying before), then a THUMP, then more crying. The little acrobat climbed over the rail of his crib and fell onto the floor.

He was fine, but today we lowered the crib mattress. :)

A Few Tidbits...

*Delyn's first Easter was great. His whole meal was grown up food. Mashed potatoes, peas (mashed, of course), and sweet potatoes. I let him feed himself with his spoon towards the end of the meal. He was a mess! I'm guessing this means I'm going to have to start cooking dinner each night. Sigh.

*Last night I made the mistake of watching one episode of The Rock of Love Bus on VH1. This meant that I had to watch ALL of the other episodes that followed. I swear, I love this trash.

*I'm trying to decide whether to get a bigger apartment or rent a house. I just can't decide.

*I'm going to try to update this blog more often!!

Happy Easter!

Movie

Just got back from watching the new "Fast and Furious" movie. Very good. :) Of course, the three 20 oz beers I had during the movie helped a lot.

Let the Games Begin

So, since we were feeling better today, I started cleaning up a little bit. I hate it when you're sick and indoors for days straight and your house takes on this sick, clammy, icky feel to it. So, I was tidying up a little bit when I noticed Puddy sitting in front of the baby, staring at him, his nose like 6 inches from Delyn's face. I walked over, and saw that Delyn had a dog treat hanging out of his mouth.

Let the babyproofing begin.

Up for Air

This past Monday I came down with the flu. It sucks. But, I'm getting better. The baby was also sick, and he's getting better too.
