Today was my first day at the Theater. All in all it was pretty cool.

I started out the day at my DM's office, and we spent the first couple of hours going over the staff and their strengths and weaknesses. I was also there with Kevin, who is the outgoing Store Manager. After we were finished at the DM's office, we went to the Theater.

The store is so quirky and weird. I think I'll probably love it and hate it at the same time. I'm going to take my camera tomorrow and post some pictures, so everyone will get to see. (I found these photos on the internet.) There are some merchandise issues and some HR issues, but I'm not scared! However, I do think it's going to take a lot of hard work.
What's
really interesting is the area of town where the store is located. I'm really glad that I work down there, so know I'll be forced to kind of get to know the roads and stuff. I've lived in Houston all of my life, and I know NOTHING about that part of town. So I'm glad I'm able to broaden my horizons a bit.
The pictures here really don't do it justice. There are so many stairways and hidden nooks...The cafe is located where the old balcony was...It's so neat. There are even the old display cases at the front of the store where the movies posters featured the coming attractions. This building has a lot of history, and I'm really looking forward to working here and making it the best it can be!

it is SUCH a cool store. I have been there many times. I'm so glad you got that store instead of some cookie-cutter one outside somewhere else! You're going to just LOVE IT LOVE IT down there! :) Yay!!
