Random Late Night Thoughts
- I finally got my registration for my truck. Only 3 months late! I had to stand in line for one hour at the courthouse. It was horrible. My back hurt the entire time, plus since I have to pee every freaking 10 minutes I was miserable. There was no way I was going to step out of line! At least it's done now. Now I just have to get it inspected, and I'll be all caught up.
- We had inventory the other night at my store. I'm still paying for it. The stress I went through beforehand added to the physical labor of that night did not equal happy times. My body is still sore, especially my stomach. Some of that's inventory, some of it's standing in line, and most of it is because I have a tiny human living in there. Yeesh, I sure do bitch a lot, don't I? I'm telling you, karma is kicking my ass in every imaginable way.
- Another thing that's kicking my ass? Recruiting. Part of my job as a Store Manager is to find managers at other retail establishments and recruit them over to our business. I have to replace one of the Assistants at my store, so I have to become really good at this really fast. Right now my recruiting skills basically consist of picking out a store, going in, walking around, and leaving. Not very productive. For the next two weeks I'll be on a recruiting rampage, while also taking time to individually talk to each member of my staff about their past reviews and stuff. Good times.
- I made my first major baby purchase today. I bought the car seat/stroller. It's an Eddie Bauer Adventurer Travel System, and it's pretty cool. It's a convertable car seat/stroller in one. Now I just have to get the base into the truck. They have these places where you can take your vehicle and they show you how to properly install the car seat, and I think I'll have to pay them a visit. Anyways, this thing is pretty cool. Ken helped me put it together. It was pretty easy. Basically just a lot of snapping things into place. When it was all put together, it kind of freaked me out knowing that a baby is going to soon be in there. So now the stroller is just sitting in my bedroom. Waiting. :)
- You have no idea how strong the urge is to put Puddy in the stroller and push him around. I know I'm sick.
- You know what we all take for granted? Toilets that flush properly. I had some major commode problems this afternoon/evening, and finally had to go to Kroger at 11:30pm to buy a plunger. The guy behind me was buying flip flops and a bottle of wine. I think his evening was very different from mine. :) But at least I have a toilet that will flush all the way now! I guess that's what single mom's do, huh? Drive to the store at midnight to buy plumbing supplies, then doing the work myself.
- When I was buying the stroller, one of the Target sales people was telling my that she had purchased the same stroller for their daughter, who is expecting a baby. She said that some of it was a little bit hard to put together, so I should have my husband do that part. So, that made me feel crappy.
- Something that I haven't gotten tired of yet: feeling the baby move.
