It's Been A Pretty Good Day!

I had my regular 32 week check up today. Some interesting news!
  • I've gained 8 lbs. in one month! Ouch! I couldn't believe it. However, the doctor isn't worried about it so I'm not going to worry. I've been under his anticipated weight gain throughout my pregnancy, so I'm not going to stress over this. It puts my total weight gain at 28 lbs, which I don't think is too bad.
  • My results from the second glucose test were great. I didn't have one single bad number. As a matter of fact, they weren't even close to being borderline. The doc said that leads him to believe that there was something wrong with the first test. Anyways, I'm just glad that I passed!
  • The baby has flipped! Yay! You know, I felt something weird going on in there Sunday night. I had some stomach pains like I had never had before, but they were pretty brief. Then Monday I was feeling all of that movement in different places. I had a feeling he had turned, and I was right! So, all is well. The chance of him turning back around is low, since he's running out of space!
  • The results of my ultrasound were all good. The only thing that looked a little bit weird is that he's measuring two weeks ahead of schedule. The doctor said that didn't affect my due date, it just means that he's pretty big. I think I'm going to have some miserable days before this baby is born. :)
  • The doc told me I needed to do everything I could to make sure I had him before August 9, because he is going on a ten day vacation that day. I don't want anyone else delivering my baby, so I hope this kid is on time!
  • My shower is coming up, and I'm starting to get excited!
In other news, I finally got Puddy to the vet today. He's all caught up on his shots, and I got him his heartworm/flea medication, as well as some spray to put on his hot spots. He hasn't been scratching since we got home, and that's awesome. The poor dog has done nothing but sleep since we got home. I think it's a combo of the excitement of the vet's office, and not being able to sleep very well due to all of the itching. Of course, those FOUR shots he got could be causing him to be drowsy as well. I'm just so glad that I finally got that all taken care of. I wanted to make sure I had him caught up and healthy by the time the baby got here. I also wanted to get rid of his fleas!!

A funny thing about the vet...When we were in the waiting area, he stuck to my leg like a toddler. It was soooooo cute. He would look up at me, and then try to get closer and closer to my legs. As a matter of fact, all of the dogs were well behaved. Jennifer said she thought that it was because there were so many animal smells that the pets knew it was kind of a neutral territory, which totally makes sense.

Puddy didn't really like the shots too much. He growled a lot and even tried to snap at the assistant who was holding him. I swear, he's totally preparing me for parenthood. I had to stand in front of him the whole time and scratch his ears and tell him it was okay.

So, it was a pretty good day. Baby and puppy are both healthy!
