Well, I'm back home. I spent last week at Mom & Dads, and boy did that help. I really underestimated how the antibiotics I was taking affected me. I felt like I had a severe hangover every day. I took myself off of them last Saturday (and then let the doctor know and he said it was okay), and I really started to feel better. Now that I've attempted to put that whole grisly business behind me, I can concentrate on my baby!
Boy am I tired! I came home for good on Friday afternoon, so I've had one whole day and two whole nights where it's just me and Delyn. The first night was tricky. I stayed up way too late so just when I was ready to crash he was ready to wake up. Needless to say we both took a couple of naps yesterday.
Last night was better. I was better prepared with things in the convenient place like diapers, pacifiers, burp clothes, etc. He's finally sleeping in his bed, too, which comes as a huge relief. He really got used to sleeping ON someone all of the time. I don't blame him. If I got to sleep on top of a warm body who rubbed my back while I slept I wouldn't want to lay in a cold bed either.
I gave him a bath about 8:30pm, fed him his bottle, and he went right to sleep until around midnight. Cool! My mom is a big fan of giving him his bath in the morning so you have a great smelling baby most of the day. However, he's so relaxed after his bath I think I want to take advantage of it and do it at night. Also, once I go back to work I won't be able to bathe him in the morning.
I also underestimated how much LAUNDRY I have to do. We're having a problem with his diapers leaking while he sleeps, and sometimes I have to change his clothes three times a day. Any advice on how to diaper boys? The only thing I figured out it is to try to point "it" down inside the diaper. This boy can really pee! I've already been peed on several times. Usually I'm careful, but when I'm not.....GUSH!
He eats like a horse, too. He's up to 6 ounces of formula each feeding, and he gets hungry every 2.5/3 hours. Formula is freaking expensive. Plus, I feel like I'm always running out! Thank goodness he won't stay on that forever.
Well, I need to go put the FIRST load of laundry into the dryer. Hope everyone is doing well! Oh...can you believe I've hardly taken any pictures? Once I get started I'll start posting them!
