The other day, I went into Starbucks to get something to drink. They have this new seasonal drink called an Espresso Truffle. Well, I don't know if it's really new or not, but I had never had it before. Basically it's fancy hot chocolate with espresso and whipped cream. It's awesome! So, I order one, and the barista asks me, "Are you sure you don't want a Peppermint Mocha Twist instead?" This confused me because the drinks cost exactly the same so he wasn't really trying to upsell me. That's like going into a restaurant and ordering a cheeseburger and the waiter saying, "Are you sure you don't want nachos?"
I told him no, I wanted to stick with my original drink, and he said something about if I bought a peppermint mocha twist part of the money would go to further HIV research in Africa or something like that. So, now I'm the person who is causing some poor soul in Africa who has HIV to be miserable, all because I didn't really have a taste for peppermint at that moment. Sigh.

yeah, well, being a former starbuckian....if they REALLY wanted to help they would donate something from EVERY drink...not just some crappy, nasty peppermint thing that most likely NOBODY wants to order! so don't feel bad!! :)
