Random Thoughts

  • During our Harry Potter event, we had a potluck dinner. Everyone that was working brought in something to snack on. Of course, I ran off and forgot the bottles of Coke that I had purchased for the event, but whatever. My reason for posting this is because Diane, one of our Booksellers, made this stuff she called "Heart Attack On A Stick". It was little cocktail weiners (good), wrapped in bacon (even better), sprinkled with brown sugar (even better-er!), and baked in the oven. Oh my goodness. They were so freaking good!! I love food on a stick!! I could have inhaled the whole pan.
  • For some reason, tonight I was thinking a lot about being in the Flag Corps in high school. So what did I do? I grabbed my baseball bat that I keep at my front door (for protection, of course! shut up!), and proceeded to try out flag moves that I could remember. Front present, back present, drop spin, double drop spin, around the world, sunset, etc...It was pretty fun, although Puddy must have thought I'd lost my freaking mind. Of course, then I had to do my Jose Cruz impression, followed by my impression of the scene in "A Few Good Men" where Tom Cruise walks around with his bat in order to come up with a good defense. It was an exciting night, let me tell you! I'll probably be sore tomorrow.
  • Okay...Jennifer, Willie, Julie, Angy, and anyone else out there who is in the know...What do I need to look for in a dog food? I haven't changed the Pudster's food, but I want to make sure he's eating something that's good for him. Right now, it's Purina One Adult Rice & Lamb stuff. I can't afford really expensive food, but I want to make sure I'm feeding him something that is good for him. Also, what about treats? Anything special I should look for?
  • I finally watched my borrowed copies of "SNL The Best of Will Ferrell" (thanks Jennifer!)...You know what? I didn't think they were that funny. True, I only watched part of the second volume, but I just didn't find myself laughing out loud that much. There were a couple of really funny parts, but all in all it left me feeling just "eh". Now, "Talladega Nights", THAT'S COMEDY!!! :)

lamb and rice or chicken and rice is p.e.r.f.e.c.t.! we used to feed them the good L&R stuff from petco, etc. but those days are OVER. I have to say though after years of feeding them pretty much the cheapest stuff out there (old roy- walmart) I'm not sure if there really is much of a difference- they just want you to think there is- and yes, we used to think there was- but our dogs are just as healthy as the next, and aidan and riley have always had shiny black coats whether we fed them nature's recipe or old roy- so that says something to me. anyway, i know i'm rambling- but even when we CAN afford it again, I don't think we'll ever go back to the WAY expensive stuff.oh and treats- same thing walmart brand milk bones- i don't think there's a big diff. and they like them!
