So, here we are. I decided to make a list of things I'm thankful for. Here goes...
I'm thankful for:
- Finally getting promoted. It's so fun to be the boss. It's hard work, but I feel like I'm making my mark, even if it's at a low volume store that's going to close.
- Jacques. I couldn't have hoped for a better boss, and he's been so supportive of me since I've known him. While serving as a mentor, he's also been my friend, and he's been there for me when I needed to talk to someone or just needed to drink a beer with a friend.
- Angy. God I miss her. My partner in crime. I'll never work with someone who compliments my style more than she did. She was also very supportive of me in my business and personal life. She always told me I deserved better, while at the same time telling me to go after what I wanted.
- This blog. It has allowed me to vent in many ways. It's so much fun to post!
- Willie and Julie. Although they are both miles away, they too have been supportive of me. They help remind me to keep seeing the humor in things, and it makes me feel good that Willie gets upset when I don't post. :) I also like that they're poor, like me. :)
- My parents. Not many 36 year old women can go to their parents and tell them that she needs to borrow $1500 to move into a new apartment because some guy broke her heart...and have them say, "Sure, that's what family is for. When do you need it by?"
- My DVR. Because it rocks.
- My laptop. Who cares that Ken picked it out. I love sitting on the couch and playing online at the same time.
- Puddy. I love Puddy more than anything. He makes me laugh, and believe it or not, he tries to comfort me when I'm sad. I love the way he cocks his head, I love the way the snuggles up against me when we sleep, I love the way he lets me smooch on his little black nose, I love that he thinks he's better than dogs three times his size, and I love that THIS Thanksgiving he doesn't have to stay in his crate while his "family" goes to the ex's aunts house all day.
- Jennifer. Oh Jennifer. I could not have survived the past four weeks without you. You opened up your home and your pocketbook to help me out, and for this I will be eternally grateful. You let me and Puds invade your space, invade your fridge, and invade your liquor cabinet. Thanks for not saying I told you so.
- My new apartment. It's so freaking cute!! I can't wait to move in, and I can't wait for Jennifer to see it! Now that she's not having her wisdom teeth removed the day before, she can come hang out while I unpack that day!
- Chris Jericho. Yum.
- I Love New York. My favorite guilty pleasure.
- Perfecting my iced tea. My tea fucking rocks.
- Perfecting my tacos. My tacos fucking rock, too. That's how I'm gonna snag a man.
- Ramona and Brad. For being okay with me coming over on short notice, toting my dog and a 12 pack, and watching "DeathProof" with me and feeding me yummy ribs because I hadn't eaten in days. And for Brad offering to go kick Ken's ass. Which is so freaking absurd if you knew Brad!
