I went over to my parents house today for a nice, healthy, New Years Day dinner. I was so looking forward to it (except for the cabbage...yuck.). My aunt and uncle who live here in Houston were also coming over, so I was looking forward to seeing them, too. Plus, it always makes me happy to see how much my parents enjoy Puddy, and he's always totally wiped out after visiting with them.
We had pork roast, cornbread, black-eyed peas, cabbage, mac & cheese, and sweet potatoes. What I was looking forward to most was the roast. I wanted to eat all I could, then take the rest home with me to make sandwiches. I was even planning on taking some to work with me tomorrow. That is, until I saw it on my plate.
Yes, I had my first outright food aversion. I fought it, and even took a little bite. I thought I was going to throw up all over the table. My mom asked me how it was, and I gave her the bad news that I couldn't eat it. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even stand to look at it on my plate. So, my mom being the greatest mom ever, brought over a bowl, scraped it off my plate, and threw it away. Yay mom! That kind of ruined the rest of dinner for me, and I felt queasy for about an hour.
Oh well. I wonder what other yummy foods I'll be disgusted by. Every meal will be an adventure!
However, those cheese blintzes I had at Jennifer's house last night ROCKED. I could have eaten the whole bag. Jennifer and I had such an old-lady New Years Eve. I drank Shirley Temples, she had a couple glasses of wine, and we watched a hodge-podge of "I Love New York", wrestling, and American Ballroom Dancing. I really wanted to go to sleep about 10:30pm, but I hung in there until midnight! Yay Tiff!
The holidays are officially over, and boy am I glad!!

Well, you two "Old Ladies" did much better than us, we were in bed by 11:30!:( Of course the night before we were probably up until 1! :)
Well, that's a damn shame about the meat.
And also, I loved the old lady New Years Eve! Very relaxing and none of that icky hangover the next day. I was totally able to enjoy the smell of black eyed peas while the cooked without wanting to be violently ill. Yay old ladies!
Just think, it's been almost three weeks since I've had an adult beverage! I miss it terribly. :( But I don't miss the hangovers! And I seem to have more money!!! Go figure!!!
