Labor & Delivery

My day started off with a trip to the hospital. Last night I felt like shit and I was having those BH contractions again. Also, I didn't feel the baby move very much yesterday so I was worried. I had a fitful nights sleep, and when I woke up to pee I had a tremendous pressure in my pelvic area, so I really freaked out.

I drove to the hospital, they hooked me up and monitored the baby's heartbeat for almost an hour. And wouldn't you know that as soon as she found the heartbeat he started squirming everywhere. I figure that he realized that he freaked me out. :) Anyway, the doctor came by and examined me and said that everything looked fine. I wasn't dilated, which is very good. However, the exam hurt like a bitch!

I was there for a couple of hours, and I felt really stupid when I left. But everyone there was really nice and said I did the right thing. They told me not to hesitate to come back if there was another decrease in fetal movement or if something else happened (like my water breaking). At least now I know that these contractions are all false and shouldn't be an indication of pre-term labor.

I'm getting really tired of feeling like crap. Every part of my body is swollen. I had some mean heartburn/reflux last night and all day today, and I'm tired of feeling like I have to pee every time I move. And it's not just a normal feeling. It's an "Oh my god I'm about to pee on myself I have to go so bad and boy howdy there's a LOT of pressure RIGHT THERE!!". Then I get to the restroom and there's nothing there. I have a feeling these last two months are going to be hell.

So glad everything is okay. Did they say anything about the increased pressure you were feeling?

Nope. I think it's all normal. They checked to see if I was dilated at all, and I wasn't, so I guess it's just being prego!! The doc did tell me that if I kept feeling bad they would move up my appointment. We'll see.
